Replacing Bad Teeth with Dentures

As dentists who have replaced thousands of missing teeth and are the go-to for dentures in Surrey, we understand exactly how patients with a mouth full of bad or failing teeth don’t want to face the costs, the process, and the time it takes to save them.

Hence, removing their remaining teeth and replacing them with dentures seems like a quick and viable option—and it is a possible solution.

Using advanced dental techniques, our dentists can remove your teeth in a single appointment and place an immediate prosthetic on the same day. However, when opting for traditional dentures, the process can take a few weeks from start to finish.

With that said, let’s dive into your available options below and outline the costs you can expect when embarking on this journey…

Removing your teeth costs

The cost to replace your teeth depends on how many teeth you have remaining and whether the extraction will be simple, complex or surgical.

It will also depend on timing; for example, if our dentists can remove several teeth at once during simple extractions, they may offer discounts for multiple extractions.

Simple extractions at our clinic cost from £205, while surgical extractions, including CBCT scans, cost from £595.

Spread the cost of the entire process

It’s possible to spread the cost of your final treatment bill with pay monthly 0% dental finance over 12 months. The only money you’ll have to put forward to begin is a 20% deposit.

You can estimate the cost of your treatment by multiplying the number of teeth you need to have removed by £205, adding the cost of your chosen denture type, subtracting 20% from the total and then dividing by 12 (the number of monthly instalments). We’ve included an example using acrylic dentures below:

What about replacing them with permanent dentures that don’t move?

A quick, simple alternative for many patients is to remove their remaining teeth and replace them with dentures—a decision that’s often driven purely by aesthetics.

Dentures will certainly give you a good baseline for a new smile – all the teeth will be visibly there and look healthy (that’s fake teeth for you), but patients initially might struggle with the strength and function of dentures, especially if they’re full mouth acrylic, which relies on suction or adhesive to stay in place when you talk, eat and smile.

Permanent dentures offer a better long-term solution, as they are secured by dental implants (artificial tooth roots in the jaw), which means they don’t rely on suction to stay in place and offer patients a better quality of life with no restrictions on the foods they can enjoy. It also means that patients won’t develop sores or denture discomfort and can rely on their dentures 100% of the time, knowing they won’t slip or fall out of place.

These types of dentures are dentures you can wear all the time – and there are two types:

Key Takeaways

  • Yes, it is possible to remove failing teeth and fit an immediate denture on the same day, but traditional dentures can still take a few weeks from start to finish.
  • Costs depend on how many teeth need to be removed and how complex the extractions are. They quote simple extractions from £205 and surgical extractions with CBCT from £595.
  • Dentures can improve appearance quickly, but some patients struggle at first with strength and function, especially full acrylic dentures that rely on suction or adhesive.
  • MyoDental (the dentist) in Weybridge, Surrey, also highlights implant-secured “permanent dentures” as the more stable long-term option, either implant-retained (removable to clean) or All-on-4 (fixed and non-removable).
