Patients can purchase veneers by beginning with a consultation, a non-negotiable first step towards their dream smile. During this cosmetic consultation, which is like a check-up for veneers, our cosmetic dentists will assess your smile, teeth, gums, and bite to determine whether you’re a suitable candidate for veneers. We’re running a promotion on these types of appointments, where patients can book a veneer consultation for free.

When overhauling your smile, porcelain veneers are cosmetic dentistry’s gold standard.

With contact-lens-size veneers that sit on top of your existing teeth, porcelain veneers offer the most natural-looking tooth replacement in dentistry.

This is why celebrity smiles tend to look so great and unassuming (we’re not talking about Turkey Teeth, which use crowns).

Requiring slight etching of the tooth’s enamel, porcelain veneers typically remove up to 0.5mm of the tooth’s surface enamel (not filing the tooth into stubs) to make room for your new fake tooth.

  • Reversible, no-prep alternative
  • Slightly thicker than porcelain
  • Placed in just one appointment
  • Costs from £350 per tooth

If you want to makeover your entire smile and get dental veneers on a budget, composite veneers should be right up your street.

They’re a great, cost-effective solution to transform your smile affordably and offer incredible benefits, like they’re non-invasive, reversible, and can be placed in just one appointment.

Typically costing from £350 per tooth or veneer, patients wanting a full smile of composite veneers can expect costs to range from £1,800 to £4,800, depending on the number of composite veneers needed and how broad and wide their smile is (as a full set usually treats the first six visible teeth in their smile).

However, as composite is much cheaper and uses inferior materials to porcelain, it does not last as long—patients can expect their treatment to last between 5 and 7 years, with some cases lasting up to 10 with the right aftercare.

Composite veneers are more susceptible to chips and stains but are much more easier to repair than porcelain.

The dental veneers procedure

Your journey to a beautiful smile with dental veneers at MyoDental begins with an initial consultation, to see if veneers are the best option for you.

Intro Image

Initial consultation

A full oral health examination will be completed, with a discussion regarding smile goals and desires. We will talk you through what is involved in the dental veneer treatment, so you are well-informed. We will take a digital scan of your teeth, and a range of photographs.

1

Trial Smile

We will use the scans and photographs to design a smile that suits your facial features. In this appointment, we will trial the smile in your mouth - take photos and videos so you can see how you feel and what you like (or dislike). This process is fully reversible and allows you to "try out" your new smile. We will repeat this process until we have designed a smile that works.

2

Preparation appointment

This appointment will allow us to prepare the teeth as necessary to accommodate your future veneers. A small amount of enamel will be removed from the tooth to create space for the new veneers. A scan of your teeth will be completed, and some temporary veneers will be fitted to your teeth to the shape of the design of the Trial Smile.

3

Fit appointment

Your custom veneers will be bonded to your teeth with a strong dental adhesive, leaving you with a brand-new smile to be proud of.

What veneers are for

FAQs dental veneers

Although not considered a permanent dental restoration, dental veneers can be long-lasting. Once they have been bonded to the teeth, they can’t be removed without damaging the teeth and with the right care can last anywhere between five and 15 years.

Just like with your natural teeth, it’s important to brush and floss regularly. It’s also best to avoid biting into hard foods that can chip or break the veneers.

The process for getting dental veneers typically involves slight discomfort while your teeth are being prepared. Your dentist can apply a local anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort.

Alternative treatments to dental veneers at MyoDental Weybridge include teeth whitening, composite bonding, and orthodontic treatments such as Invisalign.
