Popular for many reasons beyond their low price tag, composite veneers allow patients to preserve their underlying teeth and avoid sacrificing any tooth structure to makeover their smile.
Composite veneers are a same-day treatment, with resin sculpted directly onto the teeth and usually no drilling (often no injections).
Brands of Composite: Renamel® by Cosmodent, and Filtek™ by 3M.
Composite veneers use dental composite resin, a special material, as a paste sculpted directly onto the tooth to create the right shape and size. Because of this application process, they can be placed without harming your natural teeth.

Composite bonding can easily fix a wide range of problems, from gaps to discolouration, and is perfect for chips, minor crookedness, uneven shape/size, and worn teeth.
You’ll be defined as a good candidate for the procedure if your teeth are in good oral health and you are over the age of 18. Patients with severely damaged teeth may require additional or alternative procedures.
Composite veneers are significantly less expensive than alternative veneer options, such as porcelain.
The lower price tag, however, is often reflected in the treatment’s durability, strength, properties and application.
Composite veneers typically last 7 years or less, depending on how well you care for them, and are susceptible to chips and stains over time.
Our composite veneer dentists in Surrey charge from £350 per tooth, so you can transform your entire smile from as little as £2,100, with dental finance to spread the cost monthly (typically £140 per month with a 20% deposit).
The main difference between composite and porcelain veneers is how they are applied. Porcelain veneers are lab-made and adhered to your existing teeth, whereas composite is laid onto your teeth in layers.
Porcelain veneers can sometimes get a bad reputation for their application process, especially when videos on YouTube and TikTok show a patient’s teeth filed down to stubs.
But at our practice, that’s not our approach—we don’t use outdated versions of cosmetic procedures to achieve great results; we use very thin porcelain veneers, which require a small portion of enamel removal to make room for the veneer.
Porcelain veneers are permanent, though, as a small portion of enamel is removed, so you must commit to having porcelain veneers forever – which is not the case with composite veneers.
