With single implants, you don’t just replace the tooth, but the tooth root too
We know just how difficult it can be for patients who have lost a tooth for whatever reason, especially when it comes to a visible missing front tooth.
But rest assured, single dental implants are an advanced prosthetic solution that promises to deliver a fully functioning, natural-looking tooth within three appointments over three months.
MYO Dental offers single implants that replace both the missing tooth and the root, aiming for a stable, natural-looking result designed to last 10–30 years (and sometimes longer), backed by a 5-year mechanical and biological warranty.
The dental implant itself:
The dental implant is made from a very strong titanium, in the shape of a screw that’s placed into the jawbone to act like an artificial tooth root. The titanium screw is embedded into your jaw during surgery.
The abutment:
The abutment, also made from titanium attaches to the implant, which will be the connecting piece between the implant and final prosthetic, which in this case, will be a dental crown that mimics a natural tooth.
The final prosthetic (fake tooth):
The fake tooth is a dental crown made from high-quality porcelain. The crown is custom-made to match your teeth and attached to the abutment once your dental implant has fused with the bone and healed.
Before and after dental implants
Cases completed by Dr Ali Rifai, who has placed over 5000 implants

- Single dental implant, including post and crown, costs £2,150
- Temporary teeth units while your implant heals cost £275
- Your initial dental implant consultation to take your scans will cost £175
Dental implants cost more than traditional, alternative tooth replacement solutions like dental bridges or partial dentures.
But that’s because dental implants are designed to be a permanent fixture in your mouth, which will last between 10-30 years (a lifetime in some patient cases). No other tooth replacement option will last as long, or mimic natural teeth as perfectly.
Dental implants are not available via the NHS and are only offered privately. Some dental insurance companies might include the cost in their plans, but this would need to be checked with your provider.
Dental financing is one way to manage the cost of your treatment.
MYO Dental highlights comfort and suitability: implants are placed under local anaesthetic (sedation available at an additional fee), and eligibility depends on factors like bone levels, gum health, smoking status, and being over 18.

What are single tooth implants? How do they work?
You can think of a single tooth implant as a natural tooth, except other than a natural tooth root, it uses a titanium screw that’s embedded into your jawbone for long-term stability.
Unlike partial dentures, which rely on clasps, or dental bridges, which rely on cement, dental implants take their strength from the bone, protecting your remaining teeth in the process.
Single dental implants are designed to replicate and match your adjacent teeth (even down to the colour), making them indistinguishable from natural teeth. Because implants integrate into the jaw, there’s no movement (unlike dentures that slip) and no restriction on foods you can eat.
MYO Dental is always upfront on costs: a single implant (post + crown) is £2,150, with pay-monthly examples from £46.62pm (12 months at 0% with a 20% deposit), plus optional extras such as temporary teeth (£275) and a scan consultation (£175).

Is a dental implant right for you?
Not every missing tooth patient is immediately suitable for dental implants. As they rely on bone to keep them secure, you’ll need enough bone to make the treatment successful.
However, seeing as patients lose bone density due to ignoring missing teeth, sometimes a lack of bone can be a problem that requires additional treatments. The quality of your bone will be assessed during your consultation with CBCT and 3D scans.
During their consultation, patients will also be assessed for healthy gums, gum disease, smoking, and signs of tooth decay. You must also be over the age of 18.
Facts about the dental implant process:
- The dental implant is placed at our practice under local anaesthetic.
- No sedation is used, but it can be requested at an additional fee (£350 per hour).
- The implant is placed on the day but not the fake tooth. Specific timing will be explained.
- It usually takes a minimum of 12 weeks for the single implant to integrate with the bone and heal.
- The abutment is placed next, then two weeks later the dental crown is anchored.
- Temporary teeth and crowns can be used to fill the gap during the time it takes for the implant to heal.
