There are no hidden costs with private dentists, but you may incur additional fees during denture treatment.
For example, if you have a partial acrylic denture and need to add another tooth, this will incur an additional expense.
Patients should also expect higher expenses the higher number of fake teeth that need to be added to your partial denture.
Other additional costs might involve your check-ups, hygiene appointments and any x-rays not covered in your check-up.
Costs will vary based on:
Prices for a single tooth denture will undoubtedly vary from practice to practice in the UK. On average, you can everyone including pensioners expect costs ranging from £350 to £2,000, depending on whether you go through the NHS or a private healthcare provider. However, at our Surrey private clinic, our price for single tooth dentures starts from £850 for acrylic, and from £1,500 for partial Cobalt dentures. Patients have the option to spread the cost via 12 months’ interest-free finance, which would amount to £56 per month.
If you lose a tooth in the future and want to add it to your partial denture, that’s entirely possible and very easy to do, provided your denture is made from acrylic (it may not be possible with metal dentures). But how much will it cost? Adding a tooth to a partial denture privately is relatively inexpensive. Patients can expect costs from £150.
The one downside to opting for dentures for your tooth loss replacement is that it’s not a one-off cost.
No matter how expensive your initial dentures, the material they’re made from or how “advanced” they’re marketed to be, they will never last forever – and it’s not because they have a short life span, it’s because of changes in your mouth.
As the gums and bone in your jaw continue to deplete due to sustained tooth loss, the more ill-fitting your dentures will be, causing them to become loose, move around or even slip out of place.
Therefore, every five to ten years, you can expect to pay for new dentures to be made or adjusted (depending on type).
Implant-supported dentures, on the other hand, will never need to be relined or adjusted, they’ll fit perfectly for up to 30 years – which is a one-time deal for most of our patients. See dentures you can wear all the time.
