Your aligners are custom-made for your smile, constructed from a transparent thermoplastic material that maximises comfort and has no sharp edges.
Your Invis journey begins with a 3D smile simulation, which uses advanced digital technology to take thousands of images of your teeth in seconds without the need for gooey, messy and inaccurate impressions.
We use Invisalign’s iTero scanner, which is an intraoral scanner that features a small wand that scans your teeth and bite to create a 3D model of your teeth and what it will look like during each stage of treatment – and yes, that means you get to see the end result before you even begin and make any adjustments you want to achieve your dream smile.

How the process works
- After a consultation we’ll ask the Invisalign lab to make your aligners.
- The aligners should arrive two weeks later and you’ll pick them up.
- You’ll wear your aligners for a minimum of 22 hours per day.
- You’ll remove the aligners to eat and drink.
- You’ll brush your teeth after every meal before wearing your aligners again.
- You’ll swap out your aligners for a new set every 1-2 weeks.
- We’ll monitor your progress every 4-6 weeks and provide you with your next set.
- After treatment is complete, we’ll whiten your new smile for free.
- You’ll then continue to wear a retainer for a certain amount of time to keep your teeth straight.

How much does Invisalign cost?
The cost of Invisalign will depend on the length of your treatment, your bite problem and the number of aligners used. The milder and minor your condition, the cheaper and faster it will be to straighten your teeth. Our costs for the lightest version of the Invis system begin from £1,000 per arch. How long does Invisalign treatment take?
No one likes hearing the answer to the question – but the length of your Invisalign treatment will depend on your unique situation and its severity. For example, Invisalign can be as fast as two months, but you shouldn’t expect it to be this fast for overbites. The more complex your misalignment, crowding or bite problem, the more aligners used and the longer the treatment will take. Average cases usually take around 9 months to complete, but Invisalign can take up to 24 months, depending again on complexity.
Are Invisalign aligners safe?
They are very safe. Invisalign aligners are made from medical-grade, FDA-approved SmartTrack material, which is suitable for use inside the human body.
Do Invisalign aligners hurt?
Invisalign aligners are one of the most comfortable teeth straightening options available. You may feel some tightness and slight discomfort when you switch to each new set of aligners, but that should not last and is a sign that the aligners are doing their job and moving your teeth into their new position.
Can I eat and drink while wearing my Invisalign aligners?
You will need to remove your aligners while you eat and drink. This is because the aligners can be stained or damaged easily. It does mean, though, that you can eat and drink the things you enjoy, just ensure your teeth have been cleaned after eating before popping your aligners back in again.
Am I suitable for the Invisalign teeth straightening treatment?
Suitability for Invisalign treatment will depend on your individual needs. During your initial assessment at MyoDental we will be able to advise whether aligner treatment is a suitable solution for you, or whether an alternative teeth straightening treatment, such as fixed braces may be better.
