Invisalign Express (sometimes called Invisalign i7) is the fastest, lightest version of Invisalign. It uses a small series of 5–10 clear aligners to correct minor orthodontic problems such as small gaps, mild crowding and orthodontic relapse after previous braces, usually in a matter of weeks rather than many months.

Who is Invisalign Express suitable for?

Invisalign Express is designed for patients with mild alignment issues. Typical suitability criteria include gaps of 2 mm or less, crowding under 2 mm, tooth rotation under 20 degrees, minor midline discrepancies under 2 mm and mild relapse after braces. More complex crowding or bite problems usually need Invisalign Lite, Invisalign Comprehensive or other orthodontic options.

How much does Invisalign Express cost at MyoDental?

How many hours per day do I need to wear Invisalign Express aligners?

Like other Invisalign systems, Invisalign Express relies on consistent wear. Aligners should usually be worn for 22–24 hours a day and only removed for eating, drinking anything other than water and brushing or flossing. Not wearing them enough can slow or compromise your results.

Is Invisalign Express painful?

Patients may feel some tightness or pressure when they change to a new aligner, but MyoDental describes Invisalign Express as involving only minimal discomfort for most people. Any tenderness usually settles within a few days as your teeth adapt to the gentle movements.

However, note that treatment duration depends on the severity of your misalignment and the number of aligners used, so it can last up to four months.

Timeline breakdown:

Invis Express 5: Five aligners over five/ten weeks.
Invis Express 7: Seven aligners over seven/fourteen weeks.
Invis Express 10: Ten aligners over ten/twenty weeks.

Please note that these Express versions of Invisalign are typically used in cosmetic alignment and tooth correction cases, where we target the front six teeth. If your case requires more aligners and a little more time, you might be recommended Invisalign Lite instead, which costs from £1,250.

Express vs Invisalign Lite

Are you considering Invisalign? Do you know you only have minor issues to correct? But you’re not sure which to choose? Invisalign Lite and Express are both effective options, but they differ in one crucial way.

Invis Express is for very, very small problems and orthodontic relapse.
While Invisalign Lite also addresses minor issues, it’s designed for patients who need more support.
Express targets common orthodontic discrepancies under 2mm, whereas Invisalign Lite is 4mm and under.
Because Invisalign Lite is slightly more extensive, it uses more aligners up to 14 (four more than Express 10), which makes it a longer treatment time (between 3-6 months).
Express, therefore, is £250 cheaper than Invisalign Lite.
